Your Creative Sanctuary
Welcome to The Film Actors Studio
Every week, our community gathers to create, push boundaries, and make bold choices. Supported by fellow artists who understand that the biggest breakthroughs come from the bravest attempts.

We dive deep into the essentials: breaking through emotional and physical blocks, exploring scene work with partners, finding your authentic self, script analysis, and developing rich characters.

I've harmonised teachings from Eric Morris, Meisner, and Ivanna Chubbuck into a practical approach built on radical gentleness.

Need more focused attention?
I also offer 1 on 1 privates session online or in person.

Consider this space your 'Actor's Gym,' without the hyper-masculine setting.

THE FILM ACTORS STUDIO
A Bit About Me
Tim Franklin has spent over 15 years immersed in the wild ride that is the film and TV industry. Best known for playing Colby Thorne in over 300 episodes of Home & Away, he’s worked alongside A-listers like Ryan Gosling, Emily Blunt, Callan Mulvey, and Michael Caton in films like David Leitch’s The Fall Guy, Love Birds, Last King of the Cross, and Before Dawn—a Netflix war epic that hit #1 in Australia.

Before all that. It was theatre—sweat, grit, and standing ovations. Tender Napalm at The Old Fitz. Ghost Stories at the Sydney Opera House. Then came comedy, from The Moth Effect to co-creating iAm and his own podcast "Okay but What If?" with Will Gib.

Tim has been passing on his craft, teaching at Australia’s top institutions—AFTRS, TAFTA, JMC—before launching his own studio. He currently coaches some of the best in the business, including Jake Ryan, Travis Jeffery, Emily Weir, Sarah Roberts, Megan MacKenzie, and Thomas Doherty, helping them land major roles. Most recently, he helped Jake Ryan secure a supporting role in War Machine.

Tim’s approach is about making the work honest—not acting. He helps actors take control of their craft with fearless, unapologetic creativity.
